What Can I Expect from My Blepharoplasty?

Published on November 5, 2015

Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Lift Surgery) is a very common cosmetic procedure and patients wonder what the surgery involves. Here’s what we tell our patients at Houston Oculofacial Plastic Surgery.

Every surgical procedure is highly individualized and requires an initial consultation by a qualified Oculoplastic surgeon to determine best treatment option (surgical versus nonsurgical). A thorough examination is necessary to provide an accurate price estimate because every patient is significantly different. Very often, blepharoplasty is performed under local anesthesia, and requires minimal downtime.

To customize the treatment, Dr Mirwat Sami determines the degree of fat sculpting needed, muscle and canthal tendon tightening, fat transposition needed in the lower lid and midface lift.

If you are considering Blephroplasty to address your aesthetic concerns, there are techniques common to the procedure. Below is an educational infographic developed to give a broad overview of the procedures with visual aids.
