Facial Plastic Surgery for Men: Rising Trend

In recent years, cosmetic procedures for men have fast become popular. Men are increasingly interested and willing to undergo treatments for the sake of aesthetics. Plastic surgery for women is at an all time high, and it is very interesting to witness the upward trend of plastic surgery for men.

The trend has created a niche market. Initially, most male patients just wanted to have non-invasive treatments if possible because they did not want others to notice the difference in their appearance. Nevertheless, the trend continues to grow as more and more men are getting bolder with their desire for facial and body changes.

Doctor Sami Interviewed About Facial Plastic Surgery for Men

Dr. Mirwat Sami of Houston Oculofacial discussed the subject “Emerging Trends in Male Facial Plastic Surgery” with Lisa Hernandez, Anchor/Reporter of KHOU News, and Rekha Muddaraj, Anchor/Reporter KHOU 11 News, CBS affiliate. This was aired Wednesday, March 16, 2016, 4:49 PM on Channel 11.

A good number of men are considering to enhance their looks. The number of treatments are ever-growing and include botox, microdermabrasion, fillers, nose jobs, eye and neck lifts. The intention is generally to look and feel better. Years back, women were also secretive about having plastic surgery, but in recent time, it has become more of a fad rather than a taboo matter. Generally, men want the cosmetic treatments too, but prefer them to be kept “secret” and not openly discussed. While women comprise a higher number opting for plastic surgery and cosmetic procedures, there is an increasing rise in men’s interest compared to fifteen years ago. Men are already getting procedures like Botox and other minimally invasive operations. The procedures do not come with serious scars if any or a long period of recovery. With plastic surgery, men are looking fit, younger, and fresh – all of which can be key tools for better chances at success and desired achievements. The media has identified this growing trend of male plastic surgery, and Doctor Mirwat Sami gladly gave her professional insight on the matter for the CBS affiliate, KHOU 11 News.
